The word "astrology" comes from the Latin term astrologia "astronomy", which in turn derives from the Greek noun astrology, from astron "constellation" or "celestial body" and -nology-logia "the study of".The Greek words astrov astron and star astêr were both used for any point of light in the sky. The phrase planets stars planets starfish"wandering stars" was applied to the seven visible planets (including the Sun and Moon) because of their observable movement against the fixed stars. Thus, all were 'stars' in the Classical sense, explaining the prefix astro- in both astrology and astronomy.
